Tiny UNIX

BaseStation Image

At work I design embedded UNIX based systems using the Linux kernel, ARM processor, and various GNU/non-GNU toolchains and libraries.

I hope to use this page as a place to store some HOWTOs and tips that I've learned in the past few years of doing embedded programming & design. Until then, here's a link to some pictures of the box that we designed at work. It's rated to operate at -20 Celcius, and does so nicely even when installed on an outside brick wall during a winter in Alberta.

System stats:

CPU400 MHz ARM X-Scale
Connectivity100-BaseTX Ethernet & Class 1 Bluetooth
Memory64MB volatile, 132MB persistant
SoundNone
VideoNone
Keyboard/MouseNone, none!

It's a great little system to work with.
